Gary Sinise Flies 1000 Children Of Fallen US Soldiers To Disney World

Although Gary Sinise is best known for his role as Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump, he should be SUPER famous for his great work through his foundation. The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.

Recently, his foundation flew 1,000 children of fallen soldiers to Disney World with their program called Snowball Express. The children and their surviving parents, 1,750 people in all, were able to have an enjoyable holiday experience thanks to Gary’s compassion and kindness.. The children and their families are known as “Gold Star Families” as they are allowed to display a gold star after losing a parent in the Iraq war.

"Freedom and security are precious gifts that we, as Americans, should never take for granted. We must do all we can to extend our hand in times of need to those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide that freedom and security. While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation's defenders, we can always do a little more." - Gary Sinise

Gary’s mission is centered around the belief that freedom is something which we should never take for granted. He mentions that, “While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation’s defenders, we can always do a little more.”

Wow. This is only one of the many programs and services his foundation provides. Visit his website and Facebook for more information.
